We’ve had a thriving few days at the Freshers fair – it was so great to meet so many new people who like the sound of what we do.
So Term 1, let’s get to it…
GIAG event
We’re holding our double whammy film screening on Friday 11th October, where we’ll be playing two very fun documentaries about Funkadelic and Ata Kak, accompanied by music, food and browsing around the UML. Afterwards we’ll be heading down to Old Bar in the Union for our weekly DJ residency so feel free to join us there if you can’t make it for the films!

Membership
To start borrowing items from the library you need to buy a membership on the LUU website – it costs £6 for the year + £10 refundable deposit. We also have merch deals if you want to get a naughty tote bag or t-shirt.

Volunteering
We’re run by volunteers and we love them so much we let them borrow 3 things at a time instead of 1. Volunteering means that for one hour a week you’ll be in the library with a shift partner, signing records in and out (we’ll show you what to do – it’s VERY easy). It’s such a fun way of meeting new people and gives you an hour to dig deep into our collection and play music to your heart’s desire.

How to find us
We know we can be hard to find so here are two different ways of finding us up on Level 2.
- Enter the Union through the main door and head up the stairs on the left by Riley Smith. Go along the corridor past LSTV, around the corner and up a small flight of stairs. Follow this corridor around the corner, past the toilets and find us on the right hand side.
- Enter the Union through the right hand door (refectory entrance) and go straight ahead to some stairs/a lift. Go up the stairs/lift as far as you can go, and then go along the corridor, past the toilets and round the corner to find us on the right.
